International Medical & Nursing Student Sponsorship Program

Touching Lives has made a commitment to health care education in Kenya on both the community and the professional level. Our Medical and Nursing Student Sponsorship Program is an expression of this professional commitment. Applications are accepted during January and February each year. These, along with secondary school & college transcripts, references and interviews with prospective students make up the basis for recommendations to the Touching Lives board, who then award the partial tuition sponsorships. For each year that a student’s tuition is supplemented the student commits to a year’s service at Sanjweru Medical Center. The tuition sponsorship fund is maintained through directed donations. Donations throughout the year are placed in an Education Fund bank account, assuring that every penny donated is used solely for medical, dental, or nursing sponsorships. A monthly donation of just $50/mo. from 6 donors will supplement 1/2 of a year’s tuition for medical school!
